You certainly don't have to use chalk, but you may want to - especially if you're doing lots of reps of swinging-type exercises. Chalk provides the perfect "slip" or "grip" to protect your hands from tearing or losing control of the kettlebell. Check out the quick video from coach Nikolai to learn more.
